ABOUT CHETAK MODELS AND COLOURS

What are the different colours available for Chetak?

Chetak is available in Premium model. Chetak premium is offered in four different colours - Hazelnut, Velluto Russo (Red), Indigo Metallic (Blue), and Brooklyn Black.

What are the ride modes available to drive Chetak?

Chetak offers 3 ride modes. 2 Forward - Eco and Sports and 1 Reverse. In Eco Mode, the Chetak automatically detects your need for extra power and can switch to Sports mode and then back to Eco Mode. The Reverse mode allows you to gracefully back out of parking slots.

CHETAK BATTERY & RANGE

What is a range of Chetak on a full charge?

The Chetak has a class-leading range of 90 km (under IDC as per AIS 040) in Eco Mode on a full charge with a new battery. The range obtained by a user shall depend on factors such as: age of the battery, road and traffic conditions, changes in elevation, tyre condition and inflation, riding style, load on the vehicle, use of electrical accessories such as lamps and horn and mobile phone charging etc.

How do I charge a Chetak?

You may use any normal 220V, 5A, 3 pin earthed socket to Charge your Chetak with the provided Chetak charging cable and pin adapter. In such a case, the consumer is responsible for any damage to the Chetak onboard equipment due to voltage above 270V rms or any other electrical issues or malfunction at charging place. In addition, you may purchase Chetak branded home charging Box, that protects your charging cable and Chetak from voltage and current surges from the electricity supply line. It also secures your Chetak charging cable so that it can be connected and disconnected only by the owner. While it is not compulsory for you to purchase a home charging box, it is strongly recommended that you do so.

CHETAK SAFETY ASSURED

Buying a new evolving category like electric scooters can be daunting. To address some of your concerns related to safety of the Chetak– whether it be while charging, in parking or in an unforeseen circumstance, we have put together some answers to questions that you may have.

What measures have been taken to keep Chetak Safe from thermal incidents?

While designing the Chetak, safety of the rider and vehicle is of paramount consideration. There have been conscious choices made at every step to ensure a safe & incident-free ownership experience.

  • Use of high quality battery cells Chetak uses high quality advanced chemistry Lithium Ion cells sourced directly from only reputed top-quality manufacturers in the world. We validate cell consistency and use automated sorting and batching prior to battery assembly. Within the battery itself, we use multiple internal safety measures like a Current Interruption Device that isolates the cell in any event of specific malperformance.
  • Implementation of stringent performance management solution With over 75 years of expertise in the automotive industry, we have strived to strike the right balance between battery safety, battery life and performance delivery in the Chetak. Our proprietary Battery Management System and Motor Controller work together to deliver the appropriate performance while monitoring battery health to prevent the occurrence of any unfortunate incidents. The top speed capability of the Chetak is hence restricted, keeping the above in mind.
  • Charging only through an on-board Charger Chetak uses an integrated on-board charger, similar to those found on cars, to ensure that there is no potential misuse of the charger and charging parameters. Safety features like automatic earth detection, broken neutral detection, voltage and current surge isolation is implemented internally within the vehicle itself with no dependence on outside equipment. Further, Chetak prohibits use of fast charging to ensure that the battery is never in the range where safety could potentially be compromised.
  • Designed for, not adapted to, Indian conditions Chetak is a ground up design for the hot, dusty and varied Indian environment. Apart from IP67 water resistance rating, Chetak implements super-efficient heat transfer solutions with the use of a powerful fan to cool the battery at any point in time. You can hear the operation of this powerful fan during charging and occasionally whilst riding the scooter. You can experience the heat removal from the battery and other electronic systems by standing behind the Chetak when the fan is running.

What can I do to prevent accidents and thermal incidents?

Any automobile is susceptible to risk due to the inherent energy density of the fuel stored in the vehicle’s energy storage unit (similar to a tank of petrol present in most automobile). Chetak stores its energy – electricity- in its battery and is designed to operate safely and reliably in all seasons and terrains, provided the following basic care is taken by users.

  • Charge from an earthed AC 220V 5A three pin household socket that is earthed and in good condition Charging must be done in dry conditions from a sheltered and earthed standard 3 pin plug point in good condition with a 10A rated MCB for protection. This is essential for safety and installation of the charging point should be done by a competent electrician. Where possible, Chetak recommends use of industrial socket complying with IEC 60309 (15A, single-phase)
  • Usage with the genuine charging cable only Chetak is sold with its own charging cable that has inbuilt safety devices to isolate the vehicle and charger in-case there is any earthing leakage or isolation. The Charging cable is a primary safety device supporting IEC 60309 industrial standard with a snap-on adapter for the standard household 3 pin 5A socket. Never use any other cable for charging! You are welcome to purchase additional OEM charging cables from your Chetak dealership, if you desire.
  • Service at specified scheduled intervals at authorised workshop only. Any vehicle is prone to deterioration with use. This is due to the effect of vibration, temperature, moisture etc. Only a Chetak Authorised workshop has all the necessary tools and qualified technicians to check and restore your vehicle hardware and software to its technically correct condition. Please ensure that you have your Chetak serviced as indicated in your owner’s manual. You may locate your nearest authorised Chetak service station on www.chetak.com
    In case of an unlikely thermal incident please follow the below steps:-
  • If you see smoke/fire or feel excessive heat. Stop the vehicle at an open space and maintain safe distance.
  • In the unlikely event, extinguish fire by using a large and sustained amount of water.
  • Please call and inform your Chetak Dealership for assistance.

WARRANTY

What is the warranty on Chetak?

Chetak offers a warranty 50000 km or 3 year (whichever comes earlier) on the product and the Lithium-ion battery. The auxillary battery has a warranty of 18 months and tyres have a warranty of 12 months. Warranty is effective from the date of the Chetak sales invoice. The replacement or repair of part under warranty, including the lithium-ion battery, shall at the sole discretion of Bajaj Auto Ltd / Chetak Technology Ltd. Warranty on auxillary battery and tyres shall be at the sole discretion of their respective manufacturers. Warranty and any claim arising thereof is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pune only.

How can I book and buy Chetak vehicle online?

You can log on to the websitea www.chetak.com to book and buy a Chetak vehicle online.
When you click on Buy Now, you need to select a vehicle variant, colour, State and City and on click of “Submit”, you will be prompted to login or register to proceed with payment and booking if your selected city has a Chetak dealership.

How I can register on website?

When you select a vehicle variant, colour, State and City and on click of “Submit”, you will be prompted to login or register to proceed with payment and booking if your selected city has a Chetak dealership. Alternately, you can click on “Register” link to register yourself by providing required details.

What are the details required to register on website?

Your name, mobile number and email address are required to register on our website. You also need to set a password for your account to login in future. Kindly note that both, the mobile number and your email ID shall be verified through OTP for authenticity and to ensure security.

Why is mobile number and email ID mandatory for registration/online booking?

Verified mobile number and email ID are required for important communication from Bajaj Auto Limited/Chetak Technology Limited, your selected dealership and our authorised third-party partners such as insurance, finance and other services that you may avail of. Bajaj Auto Limited/Chetak Technology Limited does not share your data with any unauthorised third parties. For further details on how your data may be used / stored, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

I’m trying to register on website, it says, mobile is already registered.

This may happen when a user account with the same mobile number already exists in on our website. Please login using the mobile number.

I’ve registered earlier, but I’m not able to login using my mobile number

If you are not able to login using the registered mobile number, please contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com

I have changed my mobile, how can I login?

If you have already OTP verified and updated your new mobile number on our website, you can login with new mobile number using password or mobile OTP. If you have not updated your new mobile number, you can login using old mobile number and password. Once logged in, visit your profile to update and OTP verify your new mobile number for future logins and communications from us.

I’m not receiving OTP on my registered mobile number

Ensure mobile number entered is valid and within network. Alternately, you can login using password you have created while registering with us.

I'm not able to register due to multiple OTP requests

Please ensure you enter the latest OTP received. If problem persists, wait for 10 minutes and try again.

I’m not able to login, getting message as “Your account is locked”.

Your account gets temporarily locked when you enter incorrect password or OTP multiple times within short period. Please revisit after 30 mins and try again.

I forgot my password

Open the login page and click on “Forgot password” to reset the password. Your registered mobile number will be authenticated with OTP to allow you to reset the password.

I want to change my password

Login with your current password or OTP and click on “My Profile” from navigation menu and click on “Change password” option. Your registered mobile number will be authenticated with OTP to allow you to reset the password.

I want to change my mobile number / email address

Login to your account and click on “My Profile” from navigation menu and click on “Change” option displayed against your mobile number / email address. The mobile number / email address will be updated after successful OTP verification.

I have changed my mobile number, can I still login using my old number

No. Once you change mobile number, you must login using the new number.

Can I provide different phone number and name for RTO registration?

Yes. You can provide different mobile number and name for RTO registration. The login / registration details provided are required for accessing the website. Kindly note, you shall need to OTP verify the provided phone number. The communication from RTO office happens on the phone number provided for RTO registration.

The online booking service is being rolled out to dealerships in a phased manner. Vehicles may be available in only select states, cities and dealerships. Vehicle Prices

What is the booking amount?

The booking amount is advance payment made to your selected dealership for online booking. The booking amount may vary for different vehicles. Kindly note, all the transactions and processes after online booking needs to be done by you at the selected dealership premises.

What is ex-showroom price?

Ex-showroom price is a base price at which dealership sells a vehicle to customer including GST. However, it does not include registration, insurance, accessories, handling charges, other optional costs and their respective taxes.

Will I get the vehicle at same price as mentioned while booking online?

The prices displayed on the website at the time of booking are ex-showroom prices at that point in time. Price is subject to change without notice. The actual price as on the date and time of invoice at dealership shall be applicable. The latest price shall also be available online for your reference.

Why different cities are displaying different ex-showroom and on-road prices

The ex-showroom and on-road prices across cities / states may vary. The actual price as on the date and time of invoice at dealership shall be applicable. Kindly note, you need to book at a dealership / city where you have proof of address for RTO registration as per the laws applicable.

SUBSIDY ON CHETAK PURCHASE

Is FAME II subsidy available for all vehicles?

FAME-II subsidy benefit, as approved by department of heavy industries, Govt. of India, is available on the purchase of an electric vehicle. The FAME-II subsidy amount is displayed in the price breakup at the time of online booking.
Please note, the subsidy is available for a customer only on purchase of one electric vehicle (any make, any type of electric vehicle) and subject to approval from department of heavy industries, Govt. of India. Customer who has already availed subsidy benefit on any electric vehicle (any make, any type of electric vehicle) is not eligible for claiming FAME subsidy on the subsequent electric vehicles purchased.
The customer shall provide an undertaking with regard to FAME subsidy. The vehicle is sold subject to such an undertaking. Bajaj Auto Limited/Chetak Technology Limited shall not be responsible for the veracity of the said undertaking and any liabilities or consequences arising in case of false undertaking shall be the sole responsibility of the customer. Further, the customer shall indemnify Bajaj Auto Limited/Chetak Technology Limited or any of its associated parties against any losses or liabilities incurred by Bajaj Auto Limited/Chetak Technology Limited or any of its associated parties in the event of such losses or liabilities arising out of a false undertaking.
The final price at the time of invoice is inclusive of approved subsidies and customer shall make the full payment as on date and time of vehicle invoice.
FAME-II guidelines & rules, as communicated by department of heavy industries, Govt. of India, shall apply.

Is State Government Subsidy available for all vehicles?

Each State Government has its own policy on electric two wheelers. Any State Government subsidy that is provided to Bajaj Auto Limited/Chetak Technology Limited as the manufacturer of electric vehicle, is passed on directly to the buyer in accordance with the applicable State Government policies. This would be reflected suitably in the price details under the heading of State Government subsidy (wherever applicable). Any State Government subsidy such as reduced registration charges or road tax would reflect as actual figures under road tax and registration. Other State Government subsidies may need to be claimed directly by the buyer from the Government in which case they are not shown in the price payable by a buyer. Buyers are advised to check with their respective State Government websites on the procedure for claiming subsidy. Terms & Conditions apply.

In my state, dealer is asking me to apply for subsidy directly with Govt. department

Some state Governments may offer subsidy on purchase of electric vehicle, where customers have to directly claim the subsidy benefits from the respective state Govt. department after vehicle delivery. In such cases, customer shall submit the claim to state Government department, as per the defined process in respective state. The documents required shall be provided by dealership at the time of vehicle delivery.

Can I purchase a vehicle in one state and claim the benefit in different state?

No. The state Government subsidy offered by various state Government makes it mandatory to purchase and register a vehicle in same state where the customer is residing and getting a vehicle registered.

My subsidy is rejected by the Govt.

As agreed by you during purchase of Chetak and declaration submitted, the subsidy provided to you in advance at the time of purchase is subject to approval from the respective Govt. departments. In case of subsidy rejection by the Govt. department, the dealership shall get in touch with you for the balance payment to dealership.

Pre Booking

What happens if my selected city does not have a Chetak dealership? Can I still make a booking?

If your selected City does not have a Chetak dealership, you cannot make an online booking as yet.

However, we are in the process of adding more dealerships to the Chetak network across India to serve our customers better. Upon submitting the details (vehicle variant, colour, State and City), you can register for pre-booking (if your city is eligible) or register your interest.

What is pre-booking and what happens if I register for the same?

Pre-booking of Chetak vehicle is provided in cities where a dealership is expected to launch soon.

If you pre-book, you would receive priority communication regarding test ride or booking of the selected variant from the dealership once they start operations in the selected city.

Can I pre-book more than one vehicle or Register my interest for more than one vehicle?

No, you can pre-book or register your interest only once by providing your full name, mobile number, email ID, and documents(in case of pre-booking) .

What details are required for pre-booking?

You are required to provide your full name, mobile number, email ID, Aadhar card number, Driving license number and upload a copy of your Aadhar card and driving license.
Your mobile number and email ID will need to be verified through OTP before pre-booking.

Why are my Aadhar Card and Driving License required to be uploaded for pre-booking?

Aadhar Card is required as your identity proof. Driving License is required for offering the test ride once the dealership starts operation in the selected city.

What is Pre-Booking ID and how can I use it?

Upon submitting your request for pre-booking, a Pre-Booking ID will be generated for you.
On the basis of this ID, you will receive priority communication regarding test ride and booking from the dealership as soon as they start operations in the selected city.

What happens if my selected city does not have a Chetak dealership and I “Register my interest”?

If you “Register your interest” with us, we will try to bring a dealership in your city on priority.
You will receive communication on priority once dealership is operational in your selected city.

What details are required to register my interest?

You are required to provide your full name, mobile number, email ID, State, City and Pin code.
Your mobile number and email ID will need to be verified through OTP before registering your interest.

Payment & Vehicle Booking

Do I need to register on website to book a vehicle online?

Yes. It is mandatory to register on website to book a vehicle. Name, verified mobile number and verified email ID are required to book a vehicle online.

Can I book multiple vehicles on website?

Yes. You can book multiple vehicles on website. The online booking is limited to one vehicle at a time. Once you compete a booking for one vehicle, you can then make a separate booking for another vehicle. However, for purchase of electric vehicle, subsidies, if any, shall be applicable on purchase of only one electric vehicle (any model, any make) as per the applicable government regulations.

Can I bulk book a vehicle on website?

No. You are not allowed to book multiple quantities of the same vehicle online.

Can I book same model multiple times?

We are restricting the online booking of same vehicle model by a single customer to maximum of 3 bookings for most of the models. For some vehicle models, the limit may be different. For vehicles with Government subsidies (implicit or explicit), customer can book only 1 vehicle model. For purchase of multiple / bulk quantities for a single customer, please approach the nearest dealership physically.

My booking status is “pending”

When we do not receive a confirmation of your online payment for a booking, the booking status is displayed as “pending”. In case payment is not confirmed to us, the booking is auto cancelled, and if any money has been deducted from your account, it shall be refunded usually in 5-7 working days. In this case, you may re-book a vehicle again.

My booking has failed, what to do?

If your booking has failed due to non-payment or any other reasons, you may book a vehicle again. If any money has been deducted from your account, it shall be refunded to you usually within 5-7 working days.

When booking amount paid will be adjusted against my purchase?

The booking amount paid online shall be adjusted at the time of final payment. The net final payment details are available against your booking on the website. Alternately, dealer shall intimate your balance payment to be made.

I’ve booked online but dealer is asking me to pay more due to price revision

The prices displayed on the website at the time of booking are approximate ex-showroom and on-road prices for reference purpose only. In case of any price revisions between online booking and vehicle invoicing at dealership, the actual price as on the date and time of invoice at dealership shall be applicable. You can always check the latest price online. Prices and taxes are subject to change without notice. The customer shall make direct payment to dealership for purchase of any additional products & services. Such products, services prices are not included in the on-road prices displayed online, unless explicitly highlighted.

Do I have to pay extra for booking online?

While making online bookings, for most of the payment options, the payment gateway fee is not charged to you. However, the exact amount payable for a booking, including applicable gateway fees is displayed on payment page while making online payment on payment gateway.
For online final payment, customer shall pay the amount including the applicable payment gateway charges. For payment using Rupay debit cards and UPI payments, the payment gateway fee is not charged to you. Terms and conditions apply.

What are the payment options available for online payment?

Through our payment gateway partner, we provide most of the online payment options such as

Money is deducted from my account, but booking status is pending

It may happen when we did not receive a payment confirmation from your authorised bank. Please check the booking status after some time. If we do not receive payment from bank, the amount deducted will be refunded to you by your issuing bank in 5-7 working days and booking status will be updated as “Cancelled”. You may book a vehicle again online.

My booking is failed, but money is deducted from my account

The deducted money will be refunded to you usually within 5-7 working days. Please reach out to dealership or contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com in in case your refund is not processed within 7 working days.

Previously, I have booked my Chetak vehicle through www.bajajauto.com. Is my booking valid?

Yes, your booking remains valid and all selected vehicle details as well as selected dealership remains the same as long as booking is not cancelled or modified by you. You can access your booking and complete the purchase process online by logging into www.chetak.com , using the same credentials.

Previously, I have purchased my Chetak vehicle through www.bajajauto.com. Can I access details of my purchase?

Yes, you can access details of your prior purchases by logging into the www.chetak.com and visiting the “My Vehicles” Page online.

Booking Modifications

I’ve booked online, can I change my vehicle model / colour

You can change your vehicle model or colour as per availability in the same dealership where you made original booking till you make a payment to dealership. Once you make full payment to dealership, no changes are allowed.

How to change my vehicle model / colour online?

Please login to online website and go to “my bookings” by clicking on menu icon. In bookings section, click on “modify booking” to proceed with modification. The modification is allowed within the same dealership where original booking is made.

Do I need to pay extra for changing my booked vehicle?

If the booking amount for a new vehicle is higher than the earlier booked vehicle, you are required to pay the differential booking amount online. In case booking amount for your changed vehicle is lower than amount paid earlier, the balance amount will be adjusted by dealership during final payment.

Till when I can modify my booking?

You can change the booking till you make balance final payment to dealership. No changes are allowed in booking once final payment is made to dealership.

I’m trying to change my vehicle, but the vehicle I want to book is not displaying in the list

The vehicles available in a dealership where you made original booking are displayed during modification of your booking. Hence, the vehicles which are not available in the dealership where you made original booking are not displayed during modification.

Can I change my dealership while changing my vehicle?

No. Once you make a booking with a dealership, you are not allowed to change the dealership. If you wish to modify a booking to new vehicle which is not available at the dealership, you may cancel the booking and make a new booking with the dealership where the vehicle is available. The cancellation charges for your original booking shall apply.

Booking Cancellation & Refund

How can I cancel my booking?

You can login to website and visit “my bookings” from menu icon where your booking is displayed. Click on “modify booking” and then “Cancel booking”, provide details and confirm cancellation. Please note, the cancellation charges as displayed during your booking and cancellation page are applicable.

What are the cancellation charges?

Cancellation charges may vary by vehicle. The cancellation amount applicable for your booked vehicle is displayed during booking as well as on cancellation page.

Till what stage I can cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking till you make final payment to dealership. Once the final payment is made at dealership or online, you are not allowed to cancel the booking.

Can I rebook a vehicle after cancellation?

Yes. You can book online after cancellation.

I have cancelled my booking, when will I receive my refund?

After cancellation of your booking, you shall receive the refund after deducting cancellation charges in the same account, usually within in 5-7 working days. In case you do not receive refund within 7 days, you may reach out to dealership or contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com . In case of more than 89 days between your booking and cancellation, the refund shall be processed manually by dealership.

I’ve cancelled my booking, but did not get my refund yet

Usually, refunds are processed in 5-7 working days from the date of cancellation. In case you do not receive refund within 7 days, you may reach out to dealership or our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com.

Why the refund amount is less than the booking amount I paid?

The amount refunded is after deduction of the cancellation charges.

My booking has failed but money has been deducted from my account, but I haven’t received refund yet

In case of failed booking, a booking amount is refunded usually within 5-7 working days. In case you do not receive refund within 7 days, you may reach out to dealership or contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com.

Online purchase process

I’ve booked online, how to complete the purchase process online?

Once your booking is confirmed, you shall submit the KYC and RTO registration documents online. Once dealership verifies your KYC documents, you may purchase online insurance, apply for online finance, buy add-on (if available) and make online payment to complete the purchase process online.
Alternately, you may reach out to your selected dealership, for any assistance on insurance, finance, payment etc. to complete the purchase process.

I’ve booked online, but I am not able to proceed further

This is because, the model you have booked from the selected dealership is not yet enabled for online purchase by the respective dealership. Once, the purchase is enabled, you may receive a communication to proceed with the remaining steps and make pending payment for your selected model.
Alternately, you may reach out to your selected dealership, for any assistance to complete the purchase process.

Online KYC, RTO details & Verification

What are the documents I need to submit?

Once you make online booking, click on “Proceed to purchase” to upload documents and RTO details. The list of documents that needs to be uploaded can be seen in the respective section. Please ensure you upload all required documents in required formats.
Some dealerships / vehicles may not be available for online purchase journey. In such cases, once you make online booking, a message is displayed on the website informing you to complete the purchase process at dealership directly.

Which document formats and size supported?

We support images (.jpg, .jpeg, .png) and PDF formats of up to 1 MB (per document) on website. We recommend the use of PDF. Please ensure to upload both sides of the address proof document, where applicable.

Can I submit my parents’ / spouse's documents?

The documents submitted online are for RTO registration, insurance and finance. Please ensure that you submit the documents of the concerned person on whose name you want to do the registration as required, to avoid delays in vehicle registration and delivery.

Can I submit documents directly to dealer?

With digital commerce, we support and encourage paperless electronic transactions. Hence, it is mandatory to upload the required documents online. In case of any difficulty in using the website, dealership shall assist you.

Once documents are uploaded online, please carry original documents for verification at Dealership. This is required as per KYC guidelines.

I do not have some of the documents required.

Please check the list of documents required for identify proof, address proof, finance and RTO registration purpose. Without valid documents, the process cannot be taken forward. Please contact dealership to know acceptable documents required for RTO registration.

My submitted documents are not verified by dealer.

You are expected to visit Dealership for physical verification of the documents. Once documents are physically verified by Dealer, it will be updated on the website.

In case, physical verification at dealership is completed, but the online website is still showing it as pending, please contact your dealership or our customer support team at +917709084000

By mistake, I submitted wrong documents or entered wrong information say Aadhar and PAN.

If you have already submitted the documents and they haven’t been verified yet, you can always update the details as long as it is not verified.
In case they have already been verified mistakenly, you may ask your selected dealership to Reset the details for your booking. Online Insurance Purchase

Who is insurance provider for online booking?

For online customers, we are currently providing motor vehicle insurance from "Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd.". We are in the process of onboarding more insurance providers in a phased manner.

How to apply for online insurance?

Once you book a vehicle online and verify your documents at dealership, you can apply for online insurance by logging into website. Navigate to “My bookings”, Click on “Procced to purchase” on the booked vehicle, click on “Buy” displayed next to “Select online insurance” option.

Please note – you shall be redirected to insurance service provider website to select the online insurance plan. The vehicle details (like make, model, type but not limited to) selected / shared by you with us are pre-populated in the insurance page. You shall provide additional details as required and select the insurance plan & add-on covers, as required. Once the insurance plan is confirmed, you shall be redirected back to our website to complete the remaining process.

What are the insurance plans available for online purchase?

Plans change from time to time, and customers are expected to see the details online.
Your final premium amount will be calculated based on the plan and add-ons selected by you during online insurance purchase. The actual insurance amount as on invoice date and time shall be applicable. Any change in insurance price between final payment and policy issuance date shall be adjusted with the dealership at the time of vehicle invoice.

Is it mandatory to opt for personal accident cover?

If you already have personal accident cover, you can opt out of it.

What is the validity of insurance?

Currently, for insurance policy issued, own damage insurance cover is valid for one year and third-party Insurance is valid for 5 years from the date of your invoice. The details of the policy shall be shared by the insurer after vehicle invoice.

Can I change the insurance service provider online?

No. Currently we are providing motor vehicle insurance from “Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd.” and are in the process of onboarding more insurance providers in a phased manner. If you wish to buy other insurance, you can opt out of online insurance and purchase the insurance policy offline. You may contact your dealership to assist you in purchase of insurance policy.

Can I change or modify the insurance plan online?

You can modify or update the insurance plan from the selected provider till you make final payment. Once final payment is made, no changes are allowed.

What are the documents required for availing insurance?

You have to submit proof of identity, proof of address documents. Vehicle documents will be submitted by your dealer. The list of acceptable documents are mentioned while uploading the documents on website.

I do not want to buy insurance.

As per regulations, Insurance policy is mandatory for registration and use of vehicle. Your vehicle registration will happen only after having a valid insurance policy.

Can I get vehicle registration and delivery without insurance?

No. You must have a valid vehicle insurance policy for registration.

What are the documents required for insurance claim?

Please contact insurance service provider or visit their website to get the details and documents required for insurance claim submission. Alternately, contact dealership to get assistance for insurance claim process.

Online Finance / Vehicle loan

Who is finance / loan provider for online booking?

Currently, Bajaj Finance Limited is our partner for providing instant online vehicle finance for vehicle purchases on our website. We are in the process of onboarding more finance partners in a phased manner.

How to apply for online vehicle loan?

Once you book a vehicle online and verify your documents at dealership, you can apply for online finance by logging into website. Navigate to “My bookings”, Click on “Procced to purchase” on the booked vehicle, select insurance plan and click on “apply” displayed next to “Get instant online finance”.
Please note – you shall be redirected to financer website to complete the online loan application. The details (like name, mobile number, email ID, date of birth, address, model, but not limited to) shared by you with us are pre-populated in the finance application. You shall provide additional details, as required, and complete the loan application. Once loan application is processed by the financer, you shall be redirected back to our website to complete the remaining process.
In case you opt-out of insurance online, you may contact your dealership to complete rest of the purchase process offline

What is the status of my online finance request?

In most cases, the finance request status is processed instantly within 30 minutes and loan sanction letter is shared with you. In case you do not receive the online sanction or status update within half an hour, please contact financier representative.
If your loan request is not sanctioned online, please contact financier to submit additional details to process your loan application. Alternately, the representative from the financier shall get in touch with you. Please note, your loan sanction is subject to verification of the PAN card and other documents provided.

I have applied for loan online, can I opt-out of it?

You can opt-out of loan applied online as long as it is not approved or not sanctioned or DO is not generated. Once loan is approved, you cannot make any changes online. For any such requests, please contact selected finance provider for feasible options.

What is the processing fee for vehicle loan?

Processing fees as mentioned by finance partner (currently Bajaj Finance Limited) will be applicable. The exact amount depends on the amount of finance you have opted or the amount as sanctioned by the finance partner.

What is hypothecation charge and why I have to pay?

Hypothecation charges are levied by RTO for registration of vehicles on finance, wherein the vehicle is hypothecated to the Financier till all dues are received by the Financier.

My online loan request is rejected.

You can contact dealership or the selected financier representative. Otherwise, you may opt-out of the loan online and take a finance from any financier offline.

Can I change the loan tenure or EMI amount online?

You can make the changes online as long as the loan is not approved. For any such requests, you may contact selected financier representative.

Can I close my loan before completion of tenure?

Your finance provider may provide you with pre-closure options. Please contact the financier representative for more details.

By mistake, I entered wrong PAN card, how to get it corrected?

You may contact dealership and ask them to reset your details, post which you can upload correct documents and re-apply for insurance and finance, as required. Your loan sanction is subject to verification of the PAN card and other documents provided.

I have received online sanction, but do not need loan now.

If you have not made the final payment to dealership, please visit our website to opt-out of finance. In addition, immediately inform dealership & your financier about change in your loan preference, so that they can stop the loan processing.

Add-Ons

What are the add-ons?

Any additional accessories, services, or subscriptions, as available for your booked vehicle, will be displayed in the Add-Ons section, that can be added to your purchase, before making the final payment.

Do I need to mandatorily purchase the add-ons?

The add-ons can be mandatory or optional. All the mandatory add-ons will be pre-selected by default for your purchase and can’t be unselected. The optional add-ons can be added to the purchase as required by you for corresponding accessories or services.

I cannot see add-on option for my vehicle purchase

The add-on (accessories / services / subscriptions) may not be available for online purchase for some vehicles. Please contact dealership to learn more about available add-ons and to purchase add-ons (accessories / services) directly.

I have added add-on to my purchase, I want to remove it now

You can remove the add-on till you make final payment. Once payment is made, no changes are allowed.

I forgot to purchase add-on online, can I purchase it now?

You can purchase add-ons online till you make final payment. Once payment is made, no changes are allowed. However, please contact dealership to buy add-ons directly at dealership.

For add-ons which are exclusively available only online, for e.g. data pack subscription for Chetak, you may buy it online at any time after vehicle delivery. You shall login to website and navigate to “My Vehicles” to purchase / review data pack subscription online.

Final payment

Final amount is different than amount mentioned during booking.

The details provided during booking are indicative. Based on actual insurance plan selected (if opted for online purchase), finance (if opted), Ex-showroom price as on date, RTO charges and add-ons purchased (if any), the final amount is recalculated, which may be different than the indicative amount mentioned during booking.

I want to make final payment but getting a message "wait for final payment”

Our dealership is in process of allocating a vehicle to you. Dealership shall inform you about making final payment once vehicle is allocated.

Note: Under extra-ordinary, unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, we may have to cancel your vehicle booking. In such cases, your dealer will get in touch with you for cancellation process and refund.

How can I make final payment?

Once dealership processes your booking for final payment, you shall receive an email and SMS to make the final payment. You may make final payment on website or pay directly at dealership.

What are the payment options available for online payment?

Through our payment gateway partner, we provide most of the online payment options such as

  • EMI (select partners)

What is Part payment?

Part Payment option on website enables you to make partial online payments in batches of smaller amounts, until the final pending amount becomes zero. Using Part Payment, you can make payment from multiple accounts to complete the purchase of your vehicle. For online payment using UPI or Rupay Debit cards, you may choose to make part payments online within the daily limits. Currently, for online payments using UPI or Rupay Debit cards - no gateway fees is charged to customers. Terms and conditions apply.

Can I make part payment or multiple payments from different accounts?

Yes. You can make multiple part payments online using multiple payment options available. The part payment provides you flexibility to make online payments in batches as per your cards / bank/UPIs daily transaction limits.

My total pending amount is less than the minimum required for part payment

If the total pending amount is less than the minimum amount for the part payment, you can make the full payment and need not select the part payment option

Can I make the final payment directly to dealer?

Yes. You can make the final payment to the dealership directly. The subsequent vehicle allocation, registration and insurance details may be viewed on the website.

Why I'm charged extra money for online final payment?

For online final payment, customer shall pay the amount including the applicable payment gateway charges. For payment using Rupay debit cards and UPI payments, the payment gateway fee is not charged to you. The actual amount payable including gateway charges are displayed on the payment gateway page.
Please note, once the online payment is made, it cannot be reversed. Terms and conditions apply.

I paid final amount, but dealer is requesting to make differential amount payment.

There is a possibility of revision of vehicle prices, the on-road price of the vehicle as on vehicle invoice date is treated as final amount payable. Hence, there may be difference in the amount you paid earlier vs the invoice price. You can pay the differential price by visiting website or directly to dealer. All details shall be made available on the website and on an online statement for complete transparency.

In case of reduction in the vehicle price as on invoice date vs the amount you paid (booking amount + final amount), the differential amount will be refunded to you manually by your dealership, please coordinate with dealership.

Can I cancel my vehicle after final payment?

No. Once final payment is made, you cannot cancel the vehicle booking.

Can I change the registration details after final payment?

No. Once final payment is made, you cannot change the details submitted for registration. In case of any exceptions, please contact your dealership directly.

Vehicle RTO registration & Delivery

I made a final payment, but not receiving any updates on vehicle allocation, RTO registration and delivery

We take utmost efforts to make the vehicle available to you in quickest time possible, but there may be delays in deliveries due to unavoidable circumstances.

You can contact dealership to know the expected vehicle allocation and RTO registration details.

I want to make final payment but getting a message "wait for final payment”
Our dealership is in process of allocating a vehicle to you. Dealership shall inform you about making final payment once vehicle is allocated.

My vehicle registration status is pending since long.

Generally, RTO office sends SMS notifications with registration statuses and details. Please check the messages received on the mobile number provided for RTO registration.
Alternately, please contact your dealership.

I have made final payment, but invoice is not generated since long.

Please contact your dealership to complete the process. Alternately, please contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com .

I'm not able to download invoice receipt.

All the receipts generated by dealership will be available for you to download from the website anytime. Please contact your dealership to get invoice receipt. If the receipts are already generated by dealership but you were facing issues to download it online, please contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com.

Can I register more than 1 vehicle in my name with RTO.

The vehicle RTO registrations are governed by respective state governments. Many states allow registration of more than one vehicle with same name. However, some states have limit on total number of vehicles an individual can register. Please contact your dealership to know the RTO rules and regulations applicable in your state.
Please note - For electric vehicles, the central government / state government subsidies are applicable on purchase of only one electric vehicle (any model, any make).

Can I get vehicle registered in my parent / spouse's name.

Yes. After online booking, at the time of uploading documents for KYC and RTO details, you can provide documents and submit the details of the concerned person on whose name you want to Register the vehicle. Also, please ensure that you submit and get all RTO documents and get these documents physically verified at dealership.
Please note - If any finance is approved in different name than RTO registration name, it needs to be re-applied.

Can I register a vehicle in my wife's name?

Yes. You can register vehicle with different mobile number & name, than the details used for registration on website. Please ensure all the details & documents submitted after online booking, for RTO registration are in the name of the person in whose name the vehicle needs to be registered.

Are there any charges for taking a test ride?

No. Test ride is free of cost. Due to Covid19 pandemic, sharing of helmets is banned. It is mandatory for you to carry your own helmet for a test ride. You can avail it by booking a slot online and visiting dealership to experience Chetak test ride.

How can I use a different mobile number for RTO registration?

On the website, you can provide a valid mobile number of a person in whose name the vehicle needs to be registered. Please contact your dealership for details.

Do I need to submit any extra documents for RTO registration?

The documents uploaded by you on the website and verified at the dealership are sufficient for RTO registration.
If there is need for any additional documents, the dealership shall get in touch with you directly

How much time registration takes?

Registration with RTO department usually takes 3-7 working days. In some cases, it may take longer. When the process is initiated with RTO, you should receive the status updates on the RTO registered mobile number from RTO department directly. Please contact your dealership for details.

I want to get a special number for my vehicle.

Please contact your dealership immediately after final payment for registration-related requests and details. No changes are permitted once dealership submits the details to RTO for vehicle registration.

When will I receive my RC book?

RC book is sent directly from the RTO to you. It typically takes about 60 days for delivery to the postal address provided by you for registration.

DATA PACK

What is data pack for Chetak? Do I need to have a data pack?

Data Pack subscription is available for connected vehicle, Chetak, which provides near real time status on vehicle battery, range, historical information on recent trips, SMS, System alerts, map-based navigation to reach from your current location to vehicle, riding tips etc. among many other features through Chetak app available on google play store and apple store. The connected vehicle services on Chetak app works through vehicle-app-specific data plan.
Purchase of a data pack is not mandatory. It’s entirely at the option of the consumer. If a data pack is not purchased, the Chetak App on a customer’s mobile shall be limited to Owner’s manual and limited in-app functionalities through blue-tooth connectivity with a vehicle (provided the vehicle supports Bluetooth). All other functions and alerts shall not be available.

I have purchased a Chetak, is the data pack included in my purchase? How to purchase a data pack?

The data pack is a separate purchase and not included in the vehicle price of the Chetak. Once Chetak is booked, data pack can be purchased online by visiting Add-On section in your booking. If you have not purchased data pack and your vehicle is already invoiced or delivered, you may visit website and purchase a data pack by visiting “My Vehicles” and then renew data pack.

What are the charges for data pack? How long is it valid?

The data pack subscription charges as applicable on the date will be displayed on the add-on and my vehicles page. The total amount payable includes GST. Currently, we provide data pack with 1 year validity period. For new purchases, the validity period starts from the date of vehicle invoice, whereas for data renewals, it is effective from the date of renewal.
The data pack charges are subject to change without any prior notice and prices as applicable on the date and time of invoice shall be applicable.

I have not purchase data pack during vehicle purchase, how can I buy it now?

You can buy a data pack online anytime post-purchase by visiting My Vehicle section for the selected vehicle. In the My Vehicle section of the selected vehicle, click on data renewal and data pack shall get activated within 24 hrs after successful payment.

DATA RENEWAL

Who would need to renew data pack?

Data renewal is required for the users who are using Chetak app and the data pack purchased during vehicle purchase is either expired or due for expiry in next 30 days as well as for customers who haven’t purchased a data pack subscription during vehicle purchase but wishes to buy at later date.

How to renew a data pack?

Log into your account using the registered mobile number. In the My Vehicle section of the selected vehicle, click on “Data renewal” where status of your current subscription will be displayed, with a provision to make a payment and renew your data pack online.

What are the charges for data renewal?

The renewal charges as applicable on the date will be displayed on the data renewal page in my vehicles section on the website. The total amount payable includes GST. Payment gateway fees shall be charged extra as per selected mode of payment on gateway page.
The data renewal charges are subject to change without any prior notice.

What is the validity of the subscription renewal?

Currently, data renewal plan with a validity of 365 days is available for renewal. Any new plans with shorter or longer duration introduced or revised in future will be displayed on “data renewal” page for selection and renewal.

Can I choose a validity period for data subscription?

Currently data renewal plan comes with a validity period of 365 days and you cannot choose validity period. Any new plans with shorter or longer duration introduced or revised from time to time will be displayed on “data renewal” page for selection.

I cannot see my data renewal status or renewal option after login.

Please ensure to login using the registered mobile number that was used for RTO / KYC . If you are not able to login or do not remember the registered mobile number or no longer have access to the registered mobile number, please contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com

I have renewed my data subscription, but still not able to see latest data in Chetak app

Data renewal may take upto 24 hrs. If the latest details are not reflecting in Chetak app even after 24 hrs, please reach out to your Chetak dealership or contact our customer care at customersupport@chetak.com

I’m not using Chetak app, should I renew it?

It is not mandatory to use Chetak app or renew the data plan. However, it is recommended to download Chetak app for accessing owner’s manual.

Can I cancel my data renewal after payment?

No. Once you make a payment and renew data plan, you cannot cancel it. No refunds shall be provided after successful renewal.

My money is deducted during data subscription renewal, but I haven’t received confirmation.

We send email and SMS confirmation after successful renewal. The renewal details are also available in “data renewal” section after login to www.chetak.com

CHETAK APP

What is the Chetak App and what can it be used for?

Chetak is a connected vehicle app on google play store and apple store for smartphone users, which provides near real time status on vehicle battery / range, historical information on recent trips, SMS / System alerts, map-based navigation to reach from your current location to vehicle. Riding tips etc. among other features.
Chetak app can be used by all Chetak owners and their emergency / family contacts to keep connected to vehicle from anywhere anytime.

Who can use the Chetak App?

A registered Chetak vehicle owner with active vehicle-app-specific data plan and emergency contacts added by Chetak owner in Chetak app can use the app features. The number of emergency contacts and features available to them are limited. This vehicle-app-specific data plan is separate & independent from any existing mobile service provider’s data plan being used by the Customer for their mobile data requirement.

How can the Chetak App be downloaded?

During a delivery of Chetak, dealership team shall guide you with process to download, install and pair chetak app with your vehicle. Alternately, you can visit Google Play store or Apple store to search, download and install “Chetak” app. For any help, please reach out to your Chetak dealership.

How can I register and pair a vehicle on the Chetak App?

During a vehicle delivery, dealership shall guide to download, install, register and pair your vehicle on the Chetak App. Alternately, user manual is available on Chetak app to help you with pairing a vehicle on app.

Can I access the Chetak app services on the website?

No. The connected device features are exclusively available on the Chetak app only for the customers with active vehicle-app-specific data plan.

Is there a charge to use the services offered through the Chetak App?

Yes. Customer shall be required to have an active vehicle-app-specific data plan to use Chetak App. Upon expiry of the active plan, Customer shall be required to purchase and subsequently renew the data pack to continue to use the services offered through Chetak app. Currently, data packs are available with 1 year plan only.

I have not purchased data plan at the time of my vehicle purchase, can I still purchase a data plan and use the Chetak app?

Yes. You can purchase a data plan through data renewal process and start using Chetak app. In the My Vehicle section for the respective purchased vehicle, click on “Data renewal” to make a payment to purchase a new plan / renew an existing data pack online. Please ensure you have downloaded the Chetak app on your smartphone and paired your Chetak with Chetak app.

HOME CHARGING

What is a Home Charging Box for Chetak, do I need one?

A home charging Box is a special socket available for electric vehicle, Chetak, that protects your charging cable and Chetak from voltage and current surges from the electricity supply line. It also secures your Chetak charging cable so that it can be connected and disconnected only by the owner. While it is not compulsory for you to purchase a home charging box, it is strongly recommended that you do so. You may use any normal 220V, 5A, 3 pin earthed socket to Charge your Chetak with the provided Chetak charging cable and pin adapter. In such a case, the consumer is responsible for any damage to the Chetak onboard equipment due to voltage above 270V rms.

Do I need to pay extra for home charging box? How do I purchase this?

The Chetak charging box is an accessory / add-on and not included in the price of the Chetak vehicle. It is available for purchase online at the time of buying the Chetak at the price displayed in add-on section for customers who have booked a Chetak. You may also purchase the Chetak Charging Box at any later time manually from the selected dealership.
The charging box price is subject to change without prior notice and price as applicable on the date of invoice shall be applicable.

Is home installation service provided for home charging box?

No Bajaj Auto Ltd. / Chetak Technology Ltd. does not provide any installation services for home charging box.
Your dealership may offer installation services through a skilled electrician. Please check with your dealership. It may also be installed by you through your own electrician. Kindly note we always advise the use of a 10 A MCB on the electric line to the Chetak Charging Box.

TEST RIDE BOOKING

How do I book test ride?

Click on Book a Test ride option available to select nearby dealer and your preferred date and time to avail test ride. You shall need to register to book a test ride.
All test rides are offered only at the designated dealership.

I have booked a test ride slot but haven't received confirmation from dealer yet

Wait for sometime to get a confirmation from dealership. If your test ride is scheduled on the same or next day, we suggest you to speak directly with the dealer to confirm your test ride.

Do I need to have Driving license to take a test ride?

Yes. It is mandatory to have a driving license to take a test ride. You are requested to upload a driving license while booking a test ride and carry the original physical driving license to the dealership for taking a test ride. Due to Covid19 pandemic, sharing of helmets is banned. It is mandatory for you to carry your own helmet for a test ride.

Is it mandatory to take a test ride to book Chetak?

No. it is not mandatory to take a test ride to book Chetak. You can directly book a Chetak online without test ride.

I want to re-schedule my test ride.

Yes. You can re-schedule your test ride.

I want to cancel by test ride.

Please visit online to cancel your test ride. Alternately, you can inform dealership to cancel your test ride.
We recommend you experience the Chetak by taking a test ride.

Dealer cancelled my test ride.

In case of unavoidable circumstances, your dealer may cancel test ride request. You can re-book a test ride online.

How can I re-book test ride?

Click on Book a Test ride option from navigation menu to re-book your test ride.

Are there any charges for taking a test ride?

No. Test ride is free of cost. You can avail it by booking a slot online and visiting dealership to experience Chetak test ride.

Can I choose a location for test ride?

You are expected to visit your selected Dealership for taking a test ride. Test rides are offered only from Chetak Dealerships or Experience Centers.

Can I take test rides more than once?

Yes. You can take more than one test ride of Chetak. Once you complete 1st test ride, you may visit the website and book a test ride again.
