Vehicle Booking

How to book a chetak online?

It's very simple! Follow 3 steps to book a Chetak online -
Step 1: Create your account & complete the profile by providing basic details and OTP verifying the same.

Step 2: Specify the variant and colour of Chetak, and your Chetak dealership.

Step 3: Pay the booking amount to your selected Chetak Dealership online.

Once you successfully make online payment of booking amount, you shall receive a booking confirmation online. You shall also receive an email and SMS with details of the booking & payment made to your selected dealership for future reference. Kindly note the price and/or product may be changed by dealership / Bajaj Auto without any prior notice. Price and product available on the date of final invoice shall apply against the booking made.

Note:Bookings are opened for brief periods in specific cities. If you have registered yourself on Chetak.com you shall receive an alert prior to bookings opening.

When will booking reopen?

If you have registered on chetak.com, we shall let you know when bookings are reopened.

How much payment I have to make to book a chetak?

Chetak booking currently requires an online payment amount of Rs. 2000. Kindly note booking cancellation charges are currently Rs 1000.
The booking amount paid in advance, will be adjusted against the final payment of the vehicle at invoicing.
Note:Booking amount may change without any prior notice. The booking and cancellation amounts mentioned during online booking applies.

Can I book / buy more than one Chetak?

Currently, with one account on Chetak website, you can buy only one Chetak.
In case your family members, relatives or friends want to buy Chetak, they need to create their own login accounts.

Can I make booking payment directly to dealer?

No. Chetak bookings are accepted only through the online website fromwww.chetak.com.
Once you have made a booking and uploaded your documents for registration, you may decide to opt out of online process and make the remaining transactions of insurance, financing, accessories and final payment directly with the dealer in the traditional manner. The Terms and Conditions accepted by you at the time of booking remain unchanged.

Are the prices mentioned during booking are final?

No. Final price depends on your selection of insurance, accessories etc and are those that are applicable on the date of invoicing your Chetak after making full payment. All Prices, including the ex-showroom price of the Chetak, mentioned at the time of booking as on the date of booking and for your reference only. Bajaj Auto and its dealerships may change price and/ or product without any prior notice. Price applicable for purchase shall be as on the date of final invoice. Customer may accept or cancel the booking.

Can I change vehicle colour after booking?

You can request your dealer for change in colour prior to making final payment. Dealer may accept, at the sole discretion of the dealership, your colour change request as per availability of the requested colour.

Can I change dealer after booking?

No. Once booking payment is made, you cannot change the dealer. All payments are made by you directly to the dealership you have selected.

Does my booking confirmation confirm delivery of Chetak to me?

No. Booking is confirmed with a payment of token amount and it does not confirm you delivery of vehicle. You must complete submission and verification of documents for registration /subsidy to the satisfaction of your dealership, finalise insurance and make final payment to ensure shipment, allocation, registration and delivery of Chetak.
We take utmost efforts to make the Chetak available to you in quickest time possible, but there may be delays in deliveries due to unavoidable circumstances. There is no gurantee implicit or otherwise on the delivery schedule or price of the Chetak. Bajaj Auto reserves the right to change or modify the product (ie Chetak) at any point in time without prior notice.

I belong to a city where Chetak is still not available. Can I still book it online?

No. You are required to have identity and address proof at the city of the dealership you select for the purpose of registration at that city RTO.
If booking is made with incorrect details, the dealership shall reject your booking and cancel the same. Applicable cancellation fee will be charged.
Refer Terms and Conditions or visit dealership for further clarifications.

I booked a Chetak mistakenly with wrong city / dealer.

In case of booking with wrong details, you shall need to cancel your booking and applicable cancellation fee will be charged.

Battery / Range

How do I charge a Chetak?

The Chetak can be charged at any three-pin AC 220V, 5A grounded (earthed) wall socket. If you can charge your Phone, you can charge your Chetak.

How long does the battery last on Chetak electric scooter?

The Chetak lithium-ion battery is designed to last for 70000 kms which normally takes 7 years, provided the user ensures the litium-ion battery is kept charged above 15% of capacity and used regularily. We offer a warranty of 3 years or 50000 kms (whichever comes earlier).
In all lithium-ion battery Electric Vehicles the battery capacity, and hence specified range, reduces with time, use and cumulative charge-discharge cycles. A lithium-ion Battery is considered acceptable and within specified life when it has upto 70% capacity of a brand new battery.
Warranty is only for the first registered owner of the Chetak and is not applicable if the Chetak has been used as a taxi or for any other commercial purpose.

What is the warranty on Chetak?

Chetak offers a warranty 50000 km or 3 year (whichever comes earlier) on the product and the Lithium-ion battery. The auxillary battery has a warranty of 18 months and tyres have a warranty of 12 months. Warranty is effective from the date of the Chetak sales invoice.
The replacement or repair of part under warranty, including the lithium-ion battery, shall at the sole discretion of Bajaj Auto Ltd. Warranty on auxillary battery and tyres shall be at the sole discretion of their respective manufacturers. Warranty and any claim arising thereof is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pune only.
Warranty is only for the first registered owner of the Chetak and is not applicable if the Chetak has been used as a taxi or for any other commercial purpose.

How far can Chetak electric two-wheeler go on a full charge?

The Chetak has a class-leading range of 90 km (under IDC as per AIS 040) in Eco Mode on a full charge with a new battery.
The range obtained by a user shall depend on factors such as: age of the battery, road and traffic conditions, tyre condition and inflation, riding style, load on the vehicle, use of electrical accessories such as lamps and horn and mobile phone charging etc.

Registration / Login

How do I register on chetak website?

Please enter your 10 digit valid Indian mobile number. OTP (One time password) will be sent to your mobile number, post OTP validation, you will be registered. Prior to making a booking you shall need to provide your email address and OTP verify the email address.

I have not received OTP to register / login

Please validate the 10 digit mobile number entered. You may request OTP again by clicking on "re-send OTP".
At maximum, you can request OTP 5 times, after which your account will be temporarily locked for safety reasons.

I am not able to register / login due to multiple OTP requests

Please ensure you enter the latest OTP received. If problem persists, wait for few minutes and then login / register.

My account is locked

When you request OTP more than 5 times within short period, your account gets temporarily locked. Please revisit after 2 hrs to register / login.

Can I change my registration phone number?

No. Your registered mobile number is not allowed to be changed. If you wish to change it, please get in touch with our customer support team.

I changed my phone number, now I'm not able to login using old mobile number

Once a mobile number is validated, it cannot be changed. If your mobile number is no more valid. Please get in touch with our customer support team at +917709084000.

How I can login using facebook/ google/ outlook account?

For security reasons, we do not permit you to use other modes of login. You have to use your Indian mobile number to login.

I'm less than 18 years, can I create my account online and book Chetak?

No. As per our Terms and Conditions, if you are below 18 years old, you are not authorised to create an account.

Test Ride

How do I book test ride?

Click onBook a Test rideoption available to select nearby dealer and your preferred date and time to avail test ride. You shall need to register to book a test ride.
All test rides are offered only at the designated dealership. After your test ride, we request your feedback online.

I have booked a test ride slot but haven't received confirmation from dealer yet

Wait for sometime to get a confirmation from dealership. If your test ride is scheduled on the same or next day, we suggest you to speak directly with the dealer to confirm your test ride.

Do I need to have Driving license to take a test ride?

Yes. It is mandatory to have a driving license to take a test ride. You are requested to upload a driving license while booking a test ride and carry the original physical driving license to the dealership for taking a test ride. Due to Covid19 pandemic, sharing of helmets is banned. It is mandatory for you to carry your own helmet for a test ride.

Is it mandatory to take a test ride to book Chetak?

No. it is not mandatory to take a test ride to book Chetak. You can directly book a Chetak online without test ride.

I want to re-schedule my test ride.

Yes. You are can re-schedule your test ride.

I want to cancel by test ride.

Please visit online to cancel your test ride. Alternately, you can inform dealership to cancel your test ride.
We recommend you experience the Chetak by taking a test ride.

Dealer cancelled by test ride.

In case of unavoidable circumstances, your dealer may cancel test ride request. You can re-book a test ride online.

How I can re-book test ride?

Click onBook a Test rideoption from navigation menu to re-book your test ride.

My selected time slot is greyed out on website.

Due to high requests of test ride, your preferred date / slot may not be available for test ride. We suggest you to select a date & time slot from the available ones.

Are there any charges for taking a test ride?

No. Test ride is free of cost. Due to Covid19 pandemic, sharing of helmets is banned. It is mandatory for you to carry your own helmet for a test ride. You can avail it by booking a slot online and visiting dealership to experience Chetak test ride.

Can I choose a location for test ride?

You are expected to visit your selected Dealership for taking a test ride. Test rides are offered only from Chetak Dealerships or Experience Centers.

Can I take test rides more than once?

Yes. You can take more than one test ride of Chetak. Once you complete 1st test ride, you may visit the website and book a test ride again.

Booking Payment

What is the booking amount I have to pay for booking a Chetak online?

Currently you may book Chetak with a payment of Rs. 2000. The booking amount paid in advance, will be adjusted against the final payment of the vehicle during invoice. Cancellation Charges are Rs 1000.
Note:Booking amount may change without any prior notice. The booking amount mentioned during online booking applies.

Can I book a chetak physically with Dealer?

No. Bookings for Chetak are permitted only through online website www.chetak.com. Please register online and book your Chetak from the comfort of your home.
You may also choose to visit any Chetak dealership and book online at the dealership itself. The Chetak salesperson shall be happy to assist you.

What are the modes of payment available for online payment?

You can pay using any of below mode of payments -
- Credit Card
- Debit Card
- Net banking
- Wallets
- UPI
While making a payment, you will see the list of banks, wallet partners supported.

Can I pay cash to my dealer for booking?

No. You have to make online payment for your booking. Until the payment is confirmed your booking number will not be generated.

Are there extra charges for online payment for booking?

For all booking payments as a gesture, your dealership has waived the transaction charges for the booking amount.
For all other payments (i.e. final payment) gateway fees will be charged extra. This amount shall be directly visible on the payment gateway page and your dealership receives only the final payment amount due to him as per the invoice.

My payment status is failed, but money is deducted from my account.

Don’t worry. If your money is deducted, it will be refunded directly by the payment gateway within 5 working days to the same account through which you made the payment.
If you do not receive the refund within 5 working days from transaction date, please get in touch with our customer support team at +917709084000.

Can I make partial payment for booking?

No. You need to make the entire booking amount payment using single mode of payment.

Can I pay booking account using multiple accounts?

No. You need to make the entire booking amount payment using single mode of payment.
Please ensure your account have sufficient balance / credit limit to make entire booking payment.

My payment is rejected, what should I do now?

You can go ahead and make fresh payment to confirm booking of Chetak.

I booked Chetak online, what are the next steps?

You shall be guided online by the system. Please continue online purchase process by uploading documents, selecting insurance, finance etc.

I booked Chetak online, can I now opt out of online purchase process and complete it directly with dealer?

nce you have uploaded you documents for registration you may choose to exit the online purchase process. We recommend you to continue the process on website. If you wish to switch to manual process, you can contact dealer directly. Please note - the selections and payment made for booking on website will be available with dealership and you have to continue the remaining process and process manually. Terms and Conditions accepted by you at the time of booking continue to be applicable.

Booking Cancellation & Refund

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes. You are allowed to cancel the booking prior to making final payment.
However, once you make final payment, cancellation is not permitted and refund shall not be entertained.

What are the cancellation charges?

As per terms and conditions, currently Rs. 1000 is the cancellation charges for your booking.

I haven't received the booking amount after cancellation?

Don't worry. The refund process may take up to 5 working days. The refund amount will be transferred to the same account through which you made the booking payment. If your cancellation is after 88 days of making the booking, the refund shall be made manually by your selected dealership and you shall need to visit the dealership to collect your refund.

I cancelled my booking, can I rebook again?

Yes. We would be happy to get you back. You can login on the website and book a Chetak once again.
For cancelled booking, the amount will be refunded back to you in 5 working days.

Insurance

Who is insurance provider for online booking?

For online customers, we are providing motor vehicle insurance from "Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd."

What are the insurance plans available for online purchase?

Bajaj Allianz General Insurance is currently providing Basic plan and Silver plans. In addition, you may opt for Personal accident covert, 24 X 7 Spot assistant & Vehicle replacement options. Plans change from time to time and customers are expected to see the details online.
Your final premium amount will be calculated based on the plan and add-ons selected. Kindly note all amounts shall be recalculated with latest prices after final payment is made on the date of invoicing the vehicle.

Is it mandatory to opt for personal accident cover?

If you already have personal accident cover, you can opt out of it.

What is the validity of insurance?

Currently the third party Insurance policy is valid for 5 years from the date of your invoice. Own damage insurance cover is valid for one year.

What is included in insurance?

Basic plan includes, one year of comprehensive coverage and five years of basic third party liability (i.e. maximum 5 years).

Can I change the insurance service provider online?

No. Currently you cannot change the insurance service provider online. If you wish to buy other insurance, you have opt out of online process and complete the purchase directly from your selected dealership.

What are the documents required for availing insurance?

You have to submit proof of identity, proof of address documents. Vehicle documents will be submitted by your dealer. The acceptable documents are mentioned while uploading the documents on website.

I do not want to buy insurance.

As per regulations, Insurance policy is mandatory for registration and use of vehicle. Your vehicle registration will happen only after having a valid insurance policy.

Can I get vehicle registration and delivery without insurance?

No. You must have a vehicle insurance policy for registration.

What the terms & conditions of Bajaj Allianz insurance policy ?

Finance / Vehicle Loan

Who is finance / loan provider for online booking?

Bajaj Finance Limited is our online partner for providing vehicle finance for buyers of Chetak.

What is the processing fee for vehicle loan?

Processing fees as mentioned by Bajaj Finance will be applicable. The exact amount depends on the amount of finance you have opted or sanctioned by Bajaj Finance Ltd.

What is hypothecation charges and why I have to pay?

Hypothecation charges are levied by RTO for registration of vehicles on finance, wherein the vehicle is hypothecated to the Financier till all dues are received by the Financier.

What is co-applicant and when I need to have co-applicant?

You need a co-applicant when you are financially dependent on family members or have low / variable monthly income. Having a co-applicant with regular income increases your chances of loan approval for required amount.

If I add co-applicant, is my vehicle registered in joint names?

No. Your vehicle with RTO will be registered in your name only.

My online loan request is rejected.

Please contact dealership & Bajaj Finance representative at dealership. You may opt to exit the online process and choose any other Financier.

What is the status of my online finance request?

In most cases, the finance request status is communicated to you within half an hour through SMS and email. In case you do not receive the status update from us, please contact your dealership or customer support centre at +917709084000.

Can I change the loan tenure or EMI amount online?

Once loan is approved, you cannot make any changes online. For any such requests, please contact Bajaj finance representative at dealership or Bajaj Finance customer support centre at +918698010101.

Can I close my loan before completion of tenure?

Bajaj Finance Limited may provide you with pre-closure options. Please contact Bajaj Finance customer support centre at +918698010101 for more details.

I do not have PAN card, can I still avail loan?

No. PAN card is mandatory to avail Finance online. You may choose to opt out of online process and avail a loan from a financier the traditional way.

By mistake, I entered wrong PAN card, how to get it corrected?

Please contact your dealership and Bajaj Finance representative. Your loan sanction is subject to verification of the PAN card and other documents provided.

Loan is sanctioned for me, can I out of it before registration?

Once loan is approved, you cannot make any changes online. For any such requests, please contact Bajaj finance representative at dealership to check feasible options.

Document Upload and Verification

What are the documents I need to submit?

When you reach document upload step in online website, you will be displayed the details of documents required to be uploaded. Please ensure you upload all required documents in required formats.

Which document formats and size supported?

We support images (.jpg, .jpeg, .png) and PDF formats of up to 1 MB (per document) on website. We recommed the use of PDF.

Can I submit my parents / spouse's documents?

The documents submitted are for KYC, insurance, finance and RTO vehicle registration purpose. Please ensure you submit proper documents as guided by the system.

Can I submit documents directly to dealer?

With new Chetak, we support and encourage paperless electronic transactions. Hence, it is mandatory to upload the required documents.
Please carry original documents for verification at Dealership. This is required by Law.

I do not have some of the documents required.

Please check the list of documents required for identify proof, address proof, finance and RTO registration purpose. Without valid documents, the process cannot be taken forward.

My submitted documents are not verified by dealer.

You are expected to visit Dealership as per date and slot booked by you for physical verification of the documents. Once documents are physically verified by Dealer, it will be updated on the website.
In case, physical verification at dealership is completed, but the online website is still showing it as pending, please contact your dealership or our customer support team at +917709084000

By mistake, I submitted wrong documents on website.

Please visit dealership with original documents and get the documents corrected.

By mistake, I entered wrong Aadhar, PAN card number.

Do I need to schedule appointment with dealer for document verification?

Yes. Once you upload the documents, please schedule an appointment on the website for physical verification at dealership.

Home charging Box

What is a Home Charging Box, do I need one?

A home charging Box is a special socket that protects your charging cable and Chetak from voltage and current surges from the electricity supply line. It also secures your Chetak charging cable so that it can be connected and disconnected only by the owner.

While it is not compulsory for you to purchase a home charging box, it is strongly recommended that you do so. You may use any normal 220V, 5A, 3 pin earthed socket to Charge your Chetak with the provided Chetak charging cable and pin adapter. In such a case, the consumer is responsible for any damage to the Chetak onboard equipment due to voltage above 270V rms.

I have purchased Chetak, do I need to pay extra for home charging box? How do I purchase this?

The Chetak charging box is an accessory / add-on and not included in the price of the Chetak vehicle. It is available for purchase online at the time of buying the Chetak at the price displayed in add-on page atwww.chetak.comfor customers who have booked a Chetak. You may also purchase the Chetak Charging Box at any later time manually from a Chetak dealership.

The charging box price is subject to change without prior notice and price as applicable on the date of invoice shall be applicable.

Is home installation service provided for home charging box?

No Bajaj Auto Ltd. does not provide any installation services for home charging box.

Your dealership may offer installation services through a skilled electrician. Please check with your dealership. It may also be installed by you through your own electrician. Kindly note we always advise the use of a 10 A MCB on the electric line to the Chetak Charging Box.

Data pack

What is data pack for Chetak? Do I need to have a data pack?

Chetak is a connected vehicle, which provides near real time status on vehicle battery / range, historical information on recent trips, SMS / System alerts, map-based navigation to reach from your current location to vehicle, riding tips etc. among many other features through My Chetak app available on google play store and apple store. The connected vehicle services on My Chetak app works through vehicle-app-specific data plan.

Use of a data pack is not mandatory. Its entirely at the option of the consumer. If a data pack is not purchased, the myChetak App on a customers mobile shall use only limited range blue-tooth functions and reflect data from the digital display of the Chetak. All other functions and alerts shall not be available.

I have purchased a Chetak, is the data pack installed at purchase? How to purchase a data pack?

The data pack is a separate purchase and not included in the ex-showroom price of the Chetak.

Once Chetak is booked online onwww.chetak.com, click on “proceed to purchase” from your booking summary page, after submitting RTO registration details and document upload, proceed to “Add-on” section where you can opt to buy a data pack.

What are the charges for data pack? How long is it valid?

The data charges as applicable on the date will be displayed on the add-on page. The total amount payable includes GST. Currently, we provide data pack with 1 year validity period. If purchased, the validity period starts from the date of vehicle invoice.

The data pack charges are subject to change without any prior notice and prices as applicable on the date and time of invoice shall be applicable.

I have not purchase data pack during vehicle purchase, how can I buy it now?

You can buy a data pack after your vehicle delivery. Visitwww.chetak.comand click on data renewal. Data pack shall get activated within 24 hrs after successful payment.

Data Renewal

Who would need to renew data pack?

Data renewal is required for the users who are using My Chetak app and the data pack purchased during vehicle purchase is either expired or due for expiry in next 30 days.

How to renew a data pack?

Visitwww.chetak.comand log into your account using the registered mobile number. Click on “Data renewal” from menu where status of your current subscription will be displayed, with a provision to make a payment and renew your data pack online.

What are the charges for data renewal?

The renewal charges as applicable on the date will be displayed on the data renewal page. The total amount payable includes GST. Payment gateway fees shall be charged extra as per selected mode of payment on payment gateway page.
The data renewal charges are subject to change without any prior notice.

What is the validity of the subscription renewal?

Currently, data renewal plan with a validity of 365 days is available for renewal. Any new plans with shorter or longer duration introduced or revised in future will be displayed on “data renewal” page for selection and renewal.

Can I choose a validity period for data subscription?

Currently data renewal plan comes with a validity period of 365 days and you cannot choose validity period. Any new plans with shorter or longer duration introduced or revised from time to time will be displayed on “data renewal” page for selection.

I cannot see my data renewal status or renewal option after login.

Please ensure to login using the registered mobile number that was used for booking the Chetak vehicle online. If you are not able to login or do not remember the registered mobile number or no longer have access to the registered mobile number, please reach out to your Chetak dealership or contact us atcustomersupport@chetak.com

I have renewed my data subscription, but still not able to see latest data in My Chetak app

Data renewal may take upto 24 hrs. If the latest details are not reflecting in My Chetak app even after 24 hrs, please reach out to your Chetak dealership or contact us atcustomersupport@chetak.com

I’m not using My Chetak app, should I renew it?

It is not mandatory to use my Chetak app or renew the data plan.

Can I cancel my data renewal after payment?

No. Once you make a payment and renew data plan, you cannot cancel it. No refunds shall be provided after successful renewal.

My money is deducted during data subscription renewal, but I haven’t received confirmation.

We send email and SMS confirmation after successful renewal. The renewal details are also available in “data renewal” section after login towww.chetak.com.
In the event the payment has been deducted but the renewal is unsuccessful, reach out to your Chetak dealership or contact us atcustomersupport@chetak.com

Vehicle - Prices

What is the on-road price of Chetak?

While booking a Chetak on website, you will get the indicative breakup of total on-road price.
The on-road price on the date and time of final vehicle sale invoice is treated as final and binding.

Are Chetak prices same across cities?

Chetak prices may vary across cities and states.
Please refer the price breakup provided for your city / state during booking.

Will there by any price different across different dealers in my city?

Ex-showroom price in a city is the same for all dealerships in that city.

Is price mentioned during booking remains fixed till delivery?

No. The prices mentioned during booking are indicative, as on the date of booking. The price as on final vehicle sale Invoice date is treated as final and binding.

Is FAME II subsidy available on Chetak?

Currently not available.
Once it's available it shall display automatically in the price. FAME II conditions shall apply.

What State Govt Subsidy is available on Chetak?

Each State Govt. has its own policy on electric two wheelers. Any State Govt. subsidy that is provided to Bajaj Auto Ltd. as the manufacturer of Chetak, is passed on directly to the buyer in accordance with the applicable State Govt. policies. This would be reflected suitably in the price details under the heading of State Govt. subsidy (wherever applicable). Any State Govt. subsidy such as reduced registration charges or road tax would reflect as actual figures under road tax and registration. Other State Govt. subsidies may need to be claimed directly by the buyer from the Govt. in which case they are not shown in the price payable by a buyer. Buyers are advised to check with their respective State Govt. websites on the procedure for claiming subsidy. Terms & Conditions apply.

Final Payment

Final amount is different than amount mentioned during booking.

The details provided during booking are indicative. Based on actual insurance plan selected, finance (if opted), amendments to ex-showroom price as on date & RTO charges, the final amount is recalculated, which may be different than the indicative amount mentioned during booking.

I want to make final payment, but getting a message "wait for final payment".

We are in process of allocating a Chetak to you. Dealership will inform you about making final payment once vehicle is allocated to dealership.
Note:Under extra-ordinary, unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, we may have to cancel your vehicle booking. In such cases, your dealer will get in touch with you for cancellation process and refund.

How can I make final payment?

You will receive an email and SMS from us when your dealership is ready to accept final payment. Once you receive this message, you will be able to make a final payment on website.
Alternately, you can opt out of online process and contact dealership to make the final payment directly to the dealer.

Can I make the final payment directly to dealer?

Yes. You can make the final payment to the dealership directly. The subsequent vehicle allocation, registration and insurance details may be viewed on the website.

Why I'm charged extra money for online payment?

The payment gateway fees will be charged for online payment.

I paid final amount, but dealer is requesting to make differential amount payment.

There is a possibility of revision of vehicle prices, the on-road price of the vehicle as on vehicle invoice date is treated as final amount payable. Hence, there may be difference in the amount you paid earlier vs the invoice price. You can pay the differential price by visiting website or directly to dealer. all details shall be avaiable on an online statement for complete transparency.
In case of reduction in the vehicle price as on invoice date vs the amount you paid (booking amount + final amount), the differential amount will be refunded to you manually by your dealership, please coordinate with dealership.

Can I cancel my vehicle after final payment?

No. Once final payment is made, you cannot cancel the vehicle booking.

Can I change the registration details after final payment?

No. Once final payment is made, you cannot change the details submitted for registration.
In case of any exceptions, please contact your dealership directly.

Vehicle Registration & Delivery

I made a final payment, but not receiving any updates on vehicle allocation, RTO registration and delivery.

We take utmost efforts to make the Chetak available to you in quickest time possible, but there may be delays in deliveries due to unavoidable circumstances.

My vehicle registration status is pending since long.

Generally, RTO office sends SMS notifications with registration statuses and details. Please check the messages received on the mobile number provided for RTO registration.

Can I register more than 1 Chetak in my name with RTO.

As per Govt. / RTO rules, you are allowed to register more than one vehicle in your name. However due to FAME-II rules for Govt subsidy a person may purchase only one electric vehicle with subsidy. Hence, on the website we currently permit only one Chetak per registrated Customer.

Can I get Chetak registered in my parent / spouse's name.

Please contact dealership in case of RTO registration in someone else's name.
Please note - If any finance is approved in different name than RTO registration name, it needs to be re-applied, co-applicant may be required.
Also, ensure you submit and get all RTO documents verified by dealership.

Can I register a chetak in my wife's name?

Yes. You can register Chetak with different mobile number than the registered mobile number. Please ensure all the details & documents submitted online for RTO registration are in the name of the person in whose name the vehicle needs to be registered. Please contact your dealership for details.

How can I use a different mobile number for RTO registration?

On the website, you can provide a valid mobile number of a person in whose name the vehicle needs to be registered. Please contact your dealership for details.

Do I need to submit any extra documents for RTO registration?

The documents uploaded by you on the website and verified at the dealership are sufficient for RTO registration.
If there is need for any additional documents, the dealership will get in touch with you directly.

How much time registration takes?

Registration with RTO dept. usually takes 3-7 working days. In some cases, it may take longer. When the process is initiated with RTO, you should receive the status updates on the RTO registered mobile number from RTO dept. directly. Please contact your dealership for details.

I want to get a special number for my Chetak.

Please contact your dealership immediately after final payment for registration-related requests and details.

When will I receive my RC book?

RC book is sent directly from the RTO to you. It takes up to 60 days for delivery to the postal address provided by you for registration.

My Chetak App

What is the My Chetak App and what can it be used for?

My Chetak is a connected vehicle app on google play store and apple store for smartphone users, which provides near real time status on vehicle battery / range, historical information on recent trips, SMS / System alerts, map-based navigation to reach from your current location to vehicle. Riding tips etc. among other features.
My Chetak app can be used by all Chetak owners and their emergency / family contacts to keep connected to vehicle from anywhere anytime.

Who can use the My Chetak App?

A registered Chetak vehicle owner with active vehicle-app-specific data plan and emergency contacts added by Chetak owner in My Chetak app can use the app features. The number of emergency contacts and features available to them are limited. This vehicle-app-specific data plan is separate & independent from any existing mobile service provider’s data plan being used by the Customer for their mobile data requirement.

How can the My Chetak App be downloaded?

During a delivery of Chetak, dealership team shall guide you with process to download, install and pair my chetak app with your vehicle. Alternately, you can visit Google Play store or Apple store to search, download and install “My Chetak” app. For any help, please reach out to your Chetak dealership.

How can I register and pair a vehicle on the My Chetak App?

During a vehicle delivery, dealership shall guide to download, install, register and pair your vehicle on the My Chetak App. Alternately, user manual is available on My Chetak app to help you with pairing a vehicle on app.

Can I access the My Chetak app services on the websitewww.chetak.com?

No. The connected device features are exclusively available on the My Chetak app only for the customers with active vehicle-app-specific data plan.

Is there a charge to use the services offered through the My Chetak App?

Yes. Customer shall be required to have an active vehicle-app-specific data plan to use My Chetak App. Upon expiry of the active plan, Customer shall be required to purchase and subsequently renew the data pack to continue to use the services offered through My Chetak app. Currently, data packs are available with 1 year plan only.

I have not purchased data plan at the time of my vehicle purchase, can I still purchase a data plan and use the My Chetak app?

Yes. You can purchase a data plan through data renewal process and start using My Chetak app. Visitwww.chetak.comand log into your account using the registered mobile number. Click on “Data renewal” from menu to make a payment to purchase a new plan / renew an existing data pack online. Please ensure you have downloaded the My Chetak app on your smartphone and paired your Chetak with My Chetak app.

Vehicle - Serviceability

When it will be launched in my city?

Currently, Chetak is available in Pune & Bangalore.
You can submit your details on our website and subscribe to receive updates on Chetak bookings and launch in new cities. You may also track us on social media. The links are provided at the bottom of the webpage.

Can I buy a Chetak and get it registered in my hometown where it is not launched yet?

No. You need to register the Chetak at the city of the dealership where you have purchased the Chetak. Chetak dealership shall deliver a registered vehicle with a fitted High Security Number Plate (HSRP) to a customer.

My relatives stay in a city where Chetak is launched, Can I buy it in my name from that city.

It may be possible if you have proof of residence in your relatives city acceptable to the RTO. Kindly check with the Chetak dealership.
